Running long distances takes more than just physical fitness, it takes mental resilience too!
This workshop uses the principles of Yin Yoga, mindfulness tools and the latest research on the power of the mind, to build mental resilience for long-distance running.
We will look at:
• What mental resilience is in running
• How it differs to physical resilience
• Tools and techniques to manage your mind when it starts causing trouble
• How you can build your resilience over time
• Dealing with negative self-talk
• Yoga for the runners body and the mind
If you’ve signed up to your first marathon or if you know you struggle with your mind on races or in training, then this workshop will be especially helpful!
Yin Yoga is an extremely gentle form of yoga, so no flexibility is required.

About Candice:
My love affair with yoga started 15 years ago when I went to my first class, driven by curiosity to discover what yoga had to offer my body and mind. Since then I’ve spent time with many different styles of yoga, from Ashtanga and Vinyassa in the early days, to Jivamukti and Kundalini more recently – but it was a workshop on Yin Yoga that sparked the burning desire to complete a teachers training in this particular style.
Yin complements this stage in my life so perfectly and seems to combine all the personal exploration I’ve been doing over the years – from mindfulness and meditation practices to coaching, facilitation and consulting.
I also happen to have run a number of marathons and ultra-marathons. The merging of mindfulness practices, Yin Yoga and my first-hand knowledge of what it takes to run long-distances, seemed like a natural progression after selling my online business in early 2018.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa which has a massive running community, I also travel to the UK and Europe teaching these workshops and connecting with like-minded people.
