Yin & Yang Yoga: An extended class with Tom

Join Tom for this 90-minute Yin & Yang - Yoga class.

‘Yin & Yang’ refers to the concept of how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary and needed to maintain balance. When applied to a yoga practice, Yin Yoga is a slower (cooling) practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body.
Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active (warming) practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility.

In this class, we will blend these two styles of yoga into one practice. We will begin with a series of Yin poses to work deeply into the joints and fascia, before moving into faster paced Yang sequencing to help warm the muscles and incorporate power, strength and stability.
